Shirley's remodelled engagement ring: A new hinged design

After decades of wear, Shirley’s engagement ring had seen brighter days. Although it was a beautiful, timeless, solitaire design, as modern now as it was when she first wore it, she had a problem.

Shirley’s ring had become impractical for her to wear.

The claws of Shirley’s engagement ring had worn very thin. Dangerously close to prying free of the diamond that relied on them.

Shirley’s ring was also becoming very difficult to take on and off. She was no longer able to get the ring over her knuckle with ease, yet it spun at the base of her finger. In fact, to go ahead with her remodel, her ring needed to be cut off her hand.

So we designed a new piece with a hinge.

Staying true to her original ring design, we remade Shirley’s solitaire piece with one key difference. Her new band has an inbuilt hinge so that the size is more comfortable for her, and taking it off is a breeze.

Now strong, sturdy, and practical, Shirley’s remodelled piece is ready to be worn comfortably again.
