Josh and Emma's engagement ring: Incorporating a family heirloom

It started with a treasured piece.

Not really sure what design he was looking for in an engagement ring, Josh came to us with one request.

He had brought Emma's grandmother's pendant with him to his consultation. Could we incorporate the diamond from it into the engagement ring?

Designing the engagement ring.

Although Josh was unsure about the idea of designing jewellery, we jumped right in. We ruled out options, and found new ones, basing the whole design on the treasured diamond.

No claws. Not a solitaire design. A three-stone piece? Could we have some smaller diamonds down the sides too? We discovered Josh really liked bezel settings, and thought Emma would too. They would work perfectly with her grandmother's diamond.

Creating the new ring.

With an idea in place, we sourced two matching diamonds to create the three-stone look. Time to bring the piece to life.

As for the old pendant? We couldn't bring ourselves to melt it down. So we saved the piece, replacing the diamond with a gemstone in Emma's favourite colour, keeping the original family heirloom in the family.
