Ondrae's remodelled ring: A fresh piece for a family diamond

When a sentimental piece of jewellery enters our lives, its meaning is far more important to us than the setting. So when its design doesn’t quite fit our style, what better way to make its meaning wearable than by remodelling it. For Ondrae, this journey began with an heirloom brooch.

Ondrae loved, but didn’t wear, her heirloom brooch.

Although beautiful, a brooch just wasn’t the type of piece that Ondrae would wear. So she visited the Harlequin studio to explore some ideas for remodelling her heirloom piece.

We examined the gems set in the brooch.

With a beautiful diamond in the centre, Ondrae certainly had the option of creating a brand new piece with this as the primary feature. However the Emeralds were a little more troublesome. Far too fragile to remove from their enclosed settings, the Emeralds remained in the body of the brooch to be transformed another way.

Together, we designed a brand new piece around the diamond.

With a treasured diamond to work with, Ondrae opted for ring that she could wear day to day. Looking for a little colour alongside it, she selected two stunning Blue Madagascan Sapphires to place either side of the diamond.

We created a timeless trilogy ring.

Ready to go with a new trio of gems, we created a brand new home for Ondrae’s heirloom. Elegant six claw settings for the gems, to create a timeless style. All set in luscious 18ct white gold. The result: a beautiful trilogy ring, ready for Ondrae to wear day to day.
